Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about well pumps, water pressure, filtration, and more.
How long does a well pump usually last?
Most submersible well pumps last between 10 to 20 years, depending on water quality, pump depth, and how often it runs. If your pump is 15+ years old and showing signs of failure, it may be time for a replacement.
What are signs my pressure tank is going bad?
Common signs include:
- - Short cycling (pump turns on and off quickly)
- - Low or fluctuating water pressure
- - Waterlogged tank (feels heavy with no air)
- - Visible rust or corrosion
If your tank is more than 12–15 years old, we recommend a system check to avoid damaging your pump.
Can you replace my water line without digging up my yard?
Yes. We offer trenchless water line replacement using a boring tool that installs new poly pipe underground without major excavation. It’s cleaner, faster, and ideal for lawns, gardens, and paved areas.
Do you offer water testing?
Yes. We perform basic in-house mineral and contaminant testing, including iron, pH, hardness, sulfur odor, and sediment. If advanced testing is needed, we can collect and submit samples to a certified lab for a full analysis.
What kind of filtration system do I need?
It depends on your water. We design systems based on actual test results — not guesswork. Common systems include:
- - Iron filters
- - Neutralizers (for low pH)
- - Sediment filtration
- - Carbon filters
- - UV disinfection for bacteria
We’ll test your water and build the right setup — no upselling or overkill.
My water pressure is weak - can you fix that?
Yes. Weak pressure can come from a failing tank, clogged filters, or a deep well with an undersized pump. We’ll diagnose the cause and offer solutions — including constant pressure systems if needed.
Are your technicians licensed and insured?
Yes — we’re fully licensed and insured in New York State, and we’ve been family-owned since 1910. All work is performed by trained professionals with deep experience in private water systems.
Do you offer financing?
We offer several GreenSky financing plans for well pump and water system work. Just ask during your consultation, or visit our Financing page to learn more.
